As we celebrate the boys’ long-awaited comeback, let’s check out 5 B-side tracks from SF9 with different genres that are worth adding to your playlist. Are you ready to feel the sensational charm of SF9?
Round And Round (2019)
“Round And Round” is an easy-listening dance pop track from SF9’s 7th mini album ‘RPM’. Despite the upbeat melody, this song is kind of sad as the lyrics describe the members’ complex feelings towards their crush, that they are only remaining as friends with their crush as they are hiding their feelings towards her. The members are wondering if she is also feeling the same as them, and pretending that they don’t know the members are having a crush on her. In fact, “Round And Round” has been one of their most beloved B-side tracks, and SF9 also often performs this song in fan meetings and concerts. The song even has a Japanese version!
Fire (2020)
SF9 is best known for pulling off mature concepts, and one of the B-side tracks that can prove this is “Fire”. This song is a tropical house love song from their 1st full-length album ‘First Collection’, which talks about the members’ affection towards their crush, who makes them fall in love at first sight and sets their hearts on fire. The addictive moombahton beat adds some Latin flair to the song and brings out the desire of the members to win love from their crush, highlighting the mature and sexy color of SF9 perfectly.
Believer (2021)
“Believer” is a track that SF9 performed during the final stage of the Mnet boy group competition program Kingdom, and was later included as a B-side in their 9th mini album ‘Turn Over’. The song carries a very touching message, that the lyrics tell Fantasy that they are the reason SF9 believe that they can succeed one day, and encourage fans not to give up and overcome challenges with SF9 to achieve their goals together. The empowering lyrics not only touched the hearts of Fantasy, but also fans of other groups that competed in the show, saying that they love the deep meaning behind this song.
OK OK (2022)
Apart from songs with mature concepts, SF9 also has nice bright and youthful concept songs such as “OK OK”, which is from their 11th mini album ‘The Wave of 9’. This song is a cheerful dance pop that tells Fantasy to cheer up and forget about all the troubles and disappointments in life, saying that “Everything’s gonna be OK” as SF9 will also stay by their side. This song goes well with the summer theme of the album, and watching the members singing this song while dancing along the freewheeling choreography just brightens up your day!
New World (2023)
Featured in SF9’s 12th mini album ‘The Piece of 9’, “New World” is a powerful track that declares the ambition of the group to break the old rules and open up a new world, saying that they are ready to face the challenges ahead to create their own path and make history. The punchy beats of the song demonstrate a masculine side of SF9 that is not often shown in their discography. The upbeat melody together with the encouraging lyrics makes this song a perfect anthem to boost your morale when you are feeling unmotivated.
