Fall in love with STAYC in their Double Single “GPT (Japanese Ver.)” and “Tell Me Now!” After the release of “GPT” on October 30, 2024, Japanese STAYC fans will be delighted with the Japanese version. “GPT” is the perfect city pop track straight out of a romantic anime. It is addictive, cutesy, and a great pick-me-up song to pump up the day.
“GPT (Japanese Ver.)“
Despite the upbeat, sweet melodies of the song, it actually expresses bittersweet feelings. The lyrics talk about one-sided love and how STAYC is trying to reach out to their loved ones. There’s a longing and heartache laced in their sweet voices as they sing. Especially for the chorus: “Answer me, G-P-T, Don’t you wonder about me? Is it enough for you as it is?…” It could also be that the person they love is like an AI, robotic and incapable of having feelings. However, even if they don’t return the affection, STAYC still can’t help but love them anyway.
“Tell Me Now”
Compared to “GPT,” “Tell Me Now” is just as upbeat but with happier lyrics expressing mutual love. Like the previous song, this bouncy track amps the techno melodies and heart-fluttering feelings to the next level. Finally, STAYC’s affections are reciprocated in this song. Their feelings are just as strong, as expressed in lyrics like “Even though we’re apart, I’m still interested in you, twenty four seven days.” The person STAYC loves is always on their minds, and there’s a sort of eagerness on their side to be confessed to immediately. There is both eagerness and impatience towards the one they love for them to tell them how they feel already. Even if STAYC knows they like them back, they still want to hear it from them. Like in the lyrics: “Here we go, tell me how you feel….we both feel the same way.” STAYC doesn’t want to waste more time and wants to be with their loved ones quickly.
