Foxglove, a trio from Southern California, is truly a group to look out for. Their sound stays true to alternative indie rock contemporaries while continuing to stand out with each release. Meet the talented musicians of the band: Alex Rippeon on guitar and vocals, Tristen Biszantz on drums, and Jayden Blue on bass and keyboard. Together, they create a distinctive indie sound that draws on a rich array of inspirations and influences, showcasing their artistry and creative vision. Whether they’re performing live or recording in the studio, their music is always fresh and captivating, reflecting the passion and dedication that fuels their craft.
Though the band is just beginning to make a name for themselves through social media platforms like TikTok and YouTube, the band has been making music since 2021. Over their budding career, Foxglove has released several singles and a full album (‘Inflections’).
“Save Yourself”
Their latest track is dropping on the 2nd of June according to their TikTok. “Save Yourself” will be their first single since the single album “Outtasync” in 2022. “Outtasync” features a pop-punk-inspired sound and lyric profile while “Save Yourself” presents a more indie and alt sound that is expected from Foxglove. The lyrics of “Save Yourself” focus on the mental dissolution and difficulties experienced during a breakup.
The contemplative and almost somber lyrics reflecting on the relationship are coupled (no bad blood intended) with a dancey instrumental. The drivenness of Blue’s bass line adds urgency to the thoughts and feelings within the lyrics. Biszantz’s drum presses the song further into an almost panic. The vocals bring the song back to a relaxed state, showcasing Rippeon’s vocal talents.
“Cremation, Stimulation, Degradation, You said ‘Why don’t you care for me?'”
