Enhypen’s oldest member, Heeseung, is known by EngeneS as the ace of the group. Not only is he talented, but he is also known for his visuals and sense of humor. Some Engene’s have even labeled him as being a ‘siren’ due to his impressive vibrato, as showcased in songs like “Fate” and “One In A Billion”.
While his vocals are satisfying throughout the entire song, it’s his high notes that we can’t help but be impressed by. Before you get to the list, check out our favorite Heeseung vocal moment!
“Bite Me”
Coming off Enhypen’s fourth EP, ‘Dark Blood’ is “Bite ME”. Throughout this track, we get to hear more of Heeseung’s vocal capabilities than heard in previous tracks. Time stamped at 1:44 is where his vocals shine through the most, as they blend seamlessly with Sunoo’s vocals, creating a gratifying sound for our ears.
“Sacrifice (Eat Me Up)”
Heeseung, the siren, is prominent throughout “Sacrifice (Eat Me Up)”. The concept of this video is derived from heaven and hell, making his vocals seem almost angelic. Just like in “Bite Me,” his voice has an easy flow to it, standing out as it does in every Enhypen track. However, the fast-paced tempo of certain tracks tends to overpower his vocals. Tracks like “Sacrifice Me,” which have an easygoing tempo, are where he’s able to shine the most.
“Off My Face” Cover
Where do we even begin with this one? Needless to say, Heeseung left us feeling speechless with his cover of “Off My Face” by Justin Bieber. If you haven’t heard it yet, you need to click that play button now! He knocked this one out of the park and then some. Most of the time, his vocals in Enhypen songs pack a punch, so it’s nice to hear his raw, soft, and hard-hitting vocals in a more mellow setting. This one is a favorite of Engenes, especially those whose bias is Heesesung. We hope to hear more of these calming vocals shortly, whether it’s a cover, an Enhypen song, or a solo track. Enhypen acoustic album, anyone?
“I Need The Light”
This particular song is not talked about as often as others like “Given-Taken” or “Bite Me”, but it’s a perfect showcase of Heeseung’s vocals in a way we haven’t seen before. It’s very clear throughout the video, how comfortable and effortless he looks while signing. Just like his cover above, this song has a much softer tempo and allows for his vocals to shine through without being overpowered by the beat.
KBS KPOP
This next video also displays his raw vocal talent when stripped of any editing, dancing, or heavy, up-tempo beats. We hope our favorite doe-eyed boy can continue to shine with a much more faint style of music, though we love his fast-paced, upbeat tracks. A softer cadence often gives the artists a different vibe that allows them to illustrate their vocal prowess.
