Of course, we had to acknowledge Business Proposal! Even if you’ve seen it, this is a sign for you to rewatch it. This romantic comedy follows Shin Ha-Ri (Kim Se Jeong) who takes the place of her best friend on a blind date to scare him away. Ha-ri’s world changes when Kang Tae-Moo, (Ahn Hyo Seop) her employer, shows up for the date. Thankfully, Ha-Ri is under the guise of Geum-Hui, so her real identity is unknown… for now. Once Tae-Moo discovers Ha-Ri’s real identity, he bribes her into fake dating to satisfy his grandfather, who wishes for him to be married. Business Proposal is the perfect balance of romance and comedy, making it deserving of a place on your watchlist.
Abyss
In this fantasy-romance drama, Go Se-Yeon (Kim Sa-Rang), a beautiful lawyer, experiences a tragic murder in her house, which brings a new perspective on death. A mysterious orb, called the Abyss brings her back to life but with a different, more “common” appearance as she’s now portrayed by Park Bo-Young. Cha Min, her rich but unattractive friend, experiences death and then comes back to life in a more attractive form, played by Ahn Hyo Seop. In these revivals, the resurrected person adopts the appearance of their soul. If they possess a beautiful soul, their new appearance reflects beauty, and vice versa. Se-Yeon and Cha Min maneuver through their second chance at life in their new bodies as unravel the mystery behind Se-Yeon’s murder. A twist on a classic investigation drama!
Dr. Romantic 2
A medical romance is not a genre we talk about a lot here, but Dr. Romantic 2 is one worthy of recognition. After the events of Dr. Romantic, Kim Sa-Bu (Han Suk Kyu) enlists the services of an ostracized doctor, Seo Woo-Jin (Ahn Hyo Seop), and Cha Eun-Jae (Lee Sung Kyung), who faced expulsion from her previous hospital due to another mistake in the operating room. He assigns these doctors to his rural hospital, which is grappling with a shortage of staff. We follow the team of doctors as they face various patients, grow under the leadership of Dr.Kim, and face the tough sentiment of love while working to keep the hospital functioning.
