K-pop group CRAVITY has returned to the scene with their new 7th mini-album ‘EVERSHINE.’ This mini-album captures the passionate love of youth. Even at nightfall, we can see the beauty of the afterglow, reminding us that a brighter sunrise awaits. This mini-album follows the success of their first world tour, performance at KCON LA, and the group’s official debut in Japan. Compared to their other releases, CRAVITY showcases a distinct color than before, pouring raw emotions with ‘EVERSHINE.” 2024 is determined to be their best year after Grammy.com named them a “K-Pop Boy Group To Watch.”
‘EVERSHINE’ Album Overview & “Love Or Die”
‘EVERSHINE’ is a vivid story of CRAVITY’s present and future. The title track, “Love or Die,” shows CRAVITY’s signature energetic vibe with fast-paced drums and bass rhythm. The song intensifies as listeners feel the determination of “I’d rather die than live without love,” showcasing the group’s confidence and dedication to their love. The music video follows the members’ journey for love, showing that despite all the setbacks we may experience throughout the different moments of youth, we become stronger with the ability to overcome future challenges. Our new sun can shine after experiencing love, pushing through trials, and overcoming various emotions and pain.
“C’est La Vie”
Each track of ‘EVERSHINE’ gives a different yet unique experience. The pop-infused track, “C’est La Vie” celebrates the beauty of life, love, and self-discovery. CRAVITY encourages the listeners to have a mindset of optimism and resilience and to seize every opportunity that comes our way.
“Cherry Blossom“
“Cherry Blossom” is another pop track with bright vocals. The track describes a light and dreamy atmosphere as it captures feelings of love and sweetness. It draws an image of cherry blossoms, spring, and young love. Celebrating the beauty and excitement of young love, including the tender moments and the thrill of the unknown.
“Mr.“
“Mr.” is a heavy EDM track that’s suitable for a nightclub or festival. Its lyrical themes focus on self-assurance, transformation, and empowerment. Encouraging the listeners to break free from self-imposed limitations, embrace their true identities, and navigate the journey of self-discovery with confidence. CRAVITY members Serim and Allen participated as co-writers on this track, along with WJSN’s EXY.
“Worst Thriller“
“Worst Thriller” is a psychedelic rock-inspired sound accompanied by a dramatic and adventurous narrative. The song is about embracing risks, defying expectations, and finding joy in the unpredictable, regardless of the perceived dangers and uncertainties. It conveys a message of strength, resilience, and confidence in one’s ability to navigate through the twists and turns of life.
“Over & Over“
“Over & Over” is the closing track to ‘EVERSHINE.’ The track has a mixture of fresh guitar riffs and heavy bass, giving it a pop-rock feel. The lyrics express the heartfelt desire to hold onto a precious relationship from the past. “Over & Over” is co-written and produced by CRAVITY member Allen. Adventure, self-expression, confidence, and more are at the forefront of this album, expressed in various music formats allowing for a new experience for the listener as it encourages the same message throughout each track.
