Dreamcatcher returns with their absolutely incredible 8th mini-album ‘Apocalypse: From Us’. ‘Apocalypse: From Us’ features the insanely perfect title track “Bon Voyage” and three equally perfect B-Sides. Members JiU, SuA, Siyeon, Handong, Yoohyeon, Dami, and Gahyeon returned to prove themselves as some of the most talented and unique members of the 4th generation.
Dreamcatcher’s Signature Sound
Dreamcatcher how their sound has changed over time, but is still capable of being representative of their concept. Some of their title tracks have strayed slightly from their rock band sound to a more techno-influenced rock. “Bon Voyage” is reminiscent of songs like “Chase Me” and “Boca.” Sometimes, we prefer the rock sound from Dreamcatcher sometimes, but their techno songs are also incredible! “Bon Voyage” brought back that perfect style and we absolutely loved it.
‘Apocalypse: From Us’
We were absolutely floored by this track from Dreamcatcher. Surprisingly, “Bon Voyage” made us feel like we were watching an anime opening. The music video definitely lends itself to this stylization as well. The moment before Siyeon’s chorus with SuA is especially anime-like with the crazy CGI explosion. We thought the music video was well-suited to the concept and gave us the same energy that the song did.
As usual, Dreamcatcher’s B-Sides did not disappoint. “Propose” and “Demiann” have the potential to sweep “Best B-Sides of 2023 Lists” already. Overall, we loved how well-balanced and beautifully produced this mini-album is. We are always inspired by how unique Dreamcatcher’s sound can truly be. Album to album, we appreciate the breaks from the rock sound with their genre-bending B-Sides.
Obviously, the stage performance of “Bon Voyage” is as incredible as the song. We loved how dynamic the choreography was for this song and how the entire group moved as one unit. Dreamcatcher’s live vocal performances were also insanely well executed, proving how incredibly Dreamcatcher really is!
Overall, we loved Dreamcatcher’s latest comeback! Dreamcatcher will definitely gain more INSOMNIA with this incredible mini-album. Everyone should check out some of Dreamcatcher’s other albums for more B-Sides that are sure to end up on your playlist.
