Virtual girl group Feverse has just debuted with their single “CHO” and a single album of the same name. Feverse is one of the first and most exciting groups of the fifth generation of K-Pop. We hope to share their many charms and talents with you!
GIRL’S RE:VERSE
Feverse was formed through a survival show on Kakao called GIRL’S RE:VERSE which was hosted entirely in VR. The hosts had VR avatars and so did the contestants. The show’s contestants played different characters, with various concepts from influencers to cat girls. Another twist is that the contestants are all idols that have previously debuted in other groups! We love that members of groups like LaBoum, I.O.I., Cherry Bullet, Nature, LOONA, Weki Meki, and WJSN are all present in this incredibly unique show. Here is a complete list of the avatars and characters that can be found HERE at Kprofiles.
FEVERSE MEMBERS
Finally, the lineup for Feverse was decided on the show via a live vote, a text vote, and a decision made within the cast of the show. We will now introduce to you the official lineup for Feverse!
MUNEO
Starting off strong, Muneo is a one-year-old octopus girl whose dream is to debut as an idol! Muneo ranked first on the show and is played by ex- IZ*ONE member and current soloist Kwon Eunbi.
SEORTIAE
Next, Seortiae is a recently debuted idol in the fictional girl group Ogok Girls. We love that her rookie attitude shines through on the show as she never lacks determination. She is played by Hayoung of APINK.
KEUANG
Following next is Keaung, one of the most unique contestants from GIRLS:REVERSE. Keaung is a red panda girl that presents herself as a strong leader and an even stronger competitor. Keaung is played by Luda of WJSN.
RIEN
Next, Rien is one of our favorites due to her strong leadership and even stronger charms! Her dichromatic eyes stand out on stage and give her a signature look to match her signature voice. Rien is played by Heejin of LOONA.
KIMSERENA
Finally, we have Kimserena, who is definitely our bias! She is always wearing her signature bucket hat and speaks with a cool but meaningful tone. We are always laughing and smiling whenever she is on screen. Lastly, Kimserena is played by Soobin of WJSN.
Feverse Debut
Feverse debuted on May 9th with “CHO”, a song that presents all the girls’ talents perfectly and establishes them as a great team. “CHO” borrows the “Horse Girl” style of music made popular by many groups in K-Pop and elevates it to a new level. The airy and simple style of the instrumental paired with the bright and virtual visuals create a great balance that we are so excited to see more of. The lyrics of the song are also as hopeful and excited for the future as we are. In addition, the choreography in the music video is incredibly impressive. Another important element of the show was that we saw the cast utilizing motion capture technology to precisely animate their dance moves. Though it’s a little uncanny valley to see the avatars dancing, we can see how much effort the cast is putting into this experimental survival show.
We absolutely love the final lineup for Feverse. We also feel like this show is incredibly important, even if it is a little odd. GIRLS RE:VERSE gave idols from groups that may be struggling or disbanded another chance to prove their talents. Altogether, the talents of the thirty participating cast members came together to produce a show that was not talked about that much in the West but brought out plenty of funny moments and incredible showcases of talents that may have been buried in their original groups.
