Going Seventeen is Seventeen’s variety web series that started off as a series of video blogs, but soon began consisting of activities for the group to do together. Since its release in June of 2017, Going Seventeen has created episodes with skits, physical activities, and games. Throughout Going Seventeen’s content, Carats have learned more about Seventeen, their chaos, and their chemistry. Even though the Going Seventeen editors say, “Seventeen are singers and not comedians,” Seventeen’s variety web series is something Carats enjoy watching as it allows them to escape their reality, laugh, and heal. Whether it’s your first or tenth time watching Going Seventeen, here are five episodes you need to watch.
Four Wheeled Rider
In this two-part Going Seventeen episode, the Seventeen members must race each other in four-wheel go-karts. During the races, there are obstacles like the other members shooting water from toy water guns, having to stop racing to spin three times, barricading of the trail, and having to eat a banana before continuing the race. Although Seventeen is a very competitive group, they are also known to cheat their way to the top. If you’re looking to laugh at thirteen chaotic guys shooting water at each other while riding go-karts to avoid washing a van as a penalty, this is an episode you need to watch.
Mousebusters
If you’re looking for another chaotic Going Seventeen episode, Mousebusters is one you need to watch. Split into three parts, this episode divides Seventeen into two groups, the mice and the busters. The mice scramble to avoid the busters, making this a high-energy, exciting episode. One of the things that makes this episode a must-watch is that Hoshi is one of the mice but, instead of running around, he stays hidden. While hiding, he monologues to the camera in order to ensure his screen time. Even though the mouse busting is the highlight of the episode, the third part which includes the final punishment is another reason why you need to watch this episode.
Best Friends
Moving on to a skit-centered episode, Best Friends is a two-part episode where Seventeen act as if they’re in high school. Even though two of the members were not present due to scheduling conflicts, this episode shows the present members’ different attitudes and chemistry with their fellow members. Through a series of games like ping pong and red light, green light, Seventeen shows what they remember experiencing in school. Since their skit was set in school, Seventeen’s youngest member, Dino, was portraying the role of Seventeen’s teacher as well as a student. The rest of the members took advantage of that and made Dino switch between the student and the teacher role multiple times. Best Friends is the Going Seventeen episode to watch when you’re looking in the mood for something refreshing.
Ad-lib: Seventeen’s Got Talent
As suggested by the name, this one is an ad-lib episode where the members “audition” for Seventeen’s Got Talent. Although the episode sounds like a normal skit, the members have a low-frequency massager on their shoulders that activates when they laugh, meaning the two-part episode is also a try-not-to-laugh challenge. Three of the members were judges and the rest of the member’s roles and “talents” were decided at random. Since the roles are random, the Seventeen members were able to show different sides of themselves, especially their improvisational side. If you’re interested in unusual talents like high pain tolerance, the “fastest” rapping skills, and taste bud control then this is the Going Seventeen episode for you.
Runner-Up Sports Day
This episode of Going Seventeen is filled with games and is dedicated to Children’s Day. The most unique thing about this episode is that Jun became a child actor at an early age and was not able to fully experience his childhood like the rest of the members. For this episode, the staff and members worked together to let Jun win the games so he could enjoy Children’s Day the way the other members did when they were younger. Although Jun slowly started to catch on, the rest of the members played it cool because, even though they wanted him to win, they also wanted him to have fun. Runner-Up Sports Day is a must-watch if you want to heal your inner child.
