After his debut solo performance at the Global Citizen Festival, Jungkook announced his next single, “3D feat Jack Harlow.” This new addition to his solo career comes after his debut single, “Seven feat LATTO,” which was a fresh and mature sound for Jungkook. Teaming up with Kentucky rapper Jack Harlow, the pair created a hard-hitting R&B pop track reminiscent of the early 2000s.
“3D” showcases sensual lyrics, a recurring theme that Jungkook has been delving into throughout his solo career. He skillfully explores the desire to connect with someone who seems inaccessible, seamlessly shifting between the perspectives of first, second, and third damsons, as Bighit music explained. Jack Harlow adds “spice” and “grit” to this track with his two verses as he glides seamlessly on the virbant beat.
The rhythmic R&B-Pop track is paired with a traditional music video that focuses on the performance of the track in contrast to the story-based music video for his previous single, “Seven.” Jungkook appears, draped in all white, on the stairway to heaven. Beside the stairway to heaven, we behold Jungkook dancing in the street, the fire hydrant he knocked down with a sledgehammer now gushing water, creating a scene reminiscent of a classic music video fit for MTV.
