Can you imagine writing a song inspired by a famous chef criticizing your egg-frying skills? Mark Lee can. Mark wrote what seemed like a diss track aimed at the world-renowned chef, Gordan Ramsey after Ramsey critiqued a fan-posted photo of him frying eggs. Mark juggled multiple responsibilities despite being busy with two different world tours and albums for two subgroups of NCT. Despite his hectic schedule, he still found the time to write, compose, film, and release his second solo song. Even after seven years in the industry, Mark’s artistry continues to evolve and expand. Mark’s second solo song, “Golden Hour,” released on April 7, has received plenty of praise. Mark’s artistic vision for his solo work has also been widely acknowledged and praised. “Golden Hour” was quickly anticipated due to Mark’s track record of exceptional work.
“Golden Hour” follows Mark’s first solo, “Child,” released in February 2022.
“Golden Hour,” is a fiery fusion of hip-hop and rock, driven by guitar riffs and thunderous drums. With numerous tempo and beat changes, accompanied by various rap flows, Mark’s artistry shines through in this song. Mark’s lyrics piqued fans’ interest, particularly with the suggestive line ” I got a really big…Hmm, I got a really big problem.” Daringly, Mark also namedrop Gordan Ramsey, with the line, “I’m callin Gordan Ramsey,” adding fuel to their ongoing beef. The music video features beautiful cinematography, including the sunset and unfinished building infrastructures Mark visits along with two masked figures. Using the funny background, Mark created a confident and impactful solo that shows his passion for being an artist.
“Golden Hour” is now streaming on platforms everywhere. Make sure to show your love and support on Mark’s Instagram.
