The fairly new K-pop boy group, TAN, made their debut on March 10, 2022, only a little over a year ago. Since their debut, they have released two mini-albums and a single release album with ‘TAN MADE’ being their third mini-album release. ‘TAN MADE’ consists of seven tracks and carries out various music styles, showing their versatility to their fans.
WHO IS TAN?
The boy group, managed by Think Entertainment, consists of Changsun, Jooan, Jaejun, Sunghyuk, Hyunyeup, Taehoon, and Jiseong. Changsun is the oldest member and leader of the group while Jiseong is the Maknae. Their debut album, titled ‘Limited Edition ‘1TAN,’‘ houses their #1 streamed song on Spotify, “DU DU DU.”
After their debut, they released their second mini album ‘W SERIES ‘2TAN'(wish ver)‘ on June 21, 2022, with its counterpart ‘W SERIES ‘2TAN'(we ver)‘ being released on July 26, 2022. Also, on October 11, 2022, they released their first singles album titled ‘DREAM & DEURIM.’ Earlier this year, they released a one-year anniversary special album titled ‘ESSEGE.’ This makes up their current discography alongside their newest release, ‘TAN MADE’.
‘TAN MADE’
This newly released mini album has a variety of styles interlaced within each track. The first track off of ‘TAN MADE,’ is titled “Artificial Heart,’ which has a very tender and relaxing tone. A perfect way to describe this track is being similar to the opening track of a K-Drama.
“Heartbeat” is the second track and the only track off of this mini album, so far, to have an accompanying MV. This song, along with its music video, has an upbeat, fresh, dance-pop, and techno style. This combined cooks up the perfect recipe to make you want to DANCE DANCE DANCE!
The next track, “Violet” shares a similar style to “Heartbeat,” excluding the techno sound, making it easy to think of it as a darker version of “Heartbeat.” Three out of the seven tracks on the mini album feature only specific members. Each of these three tracks each have a very different sound. “Freeze,” sung by Changsun and Hyunyeop is consistent in its simple pop sound. Meanwhile, “Jekyll&Hyde,” sung by Jooan, Jaejun, and Sunghyuk, has a softer and soulful sound. Lastly, “Tarzan,” sung by Taehoon and Jiseong, has more of an upbeat and mellow, almost reggae-inspired sound. The last track of this mini album, “New Days” gives off a pop-punk style with its electric guitar intro and ending.
K-pop boy group TAN uses their mini album ‘TAN MADE’ to once again showcase their versatility and express what fans can possibly expect to hear in future releases. We here at POP TOKKI can’t wait to see what else TAN has in store for the future!
