“Feel The Bass”
The album starts with a unit song with an alluring undertone and features members Eric, Sunwoo, Kevin, Jacob, and Juyeon. Showcasing their signature energy and charisma, the song features a blend of catchy rhythms and powerful vocals. Packed with strong 808s, sparse synth lines, and a pulsating beat that allows each artist to take center stage, urging listeners to lose themselves in the song and, as the name implies, really experience the bass.
“VVV”
Delivering a compelling performance THE BOYZ title track shows off intense expressions and synchronized choreography. “VVV” reflects resilience and determination, emphasizing overcoming challenges. The song has a suspenseful buildup that combines powerful trap beats, heavy basslines, and electronic synths. All things considered, the music video and upbeat song combine powerful, dynamic production with poignant storytelling.
“Starry Night”
Changing vibes, “Starry Night” gentle melody, and heartfelt delivery enhance its romantic theme. Enchanting a feeling of a blossoming connection under a starlit sky, the track highlights the vocal line’s emotional tone. Think stargazing, late-night drives, quiet confessions. A feeling that’s perfect for winding down or thinking about someone special.
“Ain’t Salty”
Hold on because the switch from falling in love to breaking up is quick. Leaning more into a moody, minimalist, and R&B vibe, “Ain’t Salty” proves that you don’t have to shout to be powerful. Built on a low-key trap-inspired beat, ambient synths, and vocal layering, it is a track that doesn’t demand attention—it draws you in with its calm confidence.
“Rose”
As if you were lying on your bed at night with headphones in, thinking about someone you used to love. The track has a hazy quality to the production—heavy vocals, soft layering, and gentle swells that give it a dreamlike vibe. A harmony that creates warmth, depth and a sense of soft longing but not desperation.
“Rock and Roll”
Bringing back that nostalgic R&B sound you’d hear from the early 2000s, the track gives a yearning and nonchalant vibe. It has a warm, soft R&B vibe with gentle vocals that have you reminiscing about love with affection, not bitterness. “Rock and Roll” has that early 2000s vibe that will make it stand out in their discography. It shows another side of THE BOYZ musically versatile; it’s the kind of song that doesn’t need to be flashy to leave a lasting impression.
“Nothing”
Going back to the theme of breakups, “Nothing” is about the emptiness and yearning of lingering love. Featuring gentle synths, muffled beats, and ambient layers that create a sense of space—echoing the song’s emotional emptiness. Including lyrics that express emotional detachment and longing, reflecting on what remains when a relationship fades. It’s not a sense of anger or bitterness but a melancholy and reflective feeling, like slowly coming to terms with what’s been lost.
“Miss Demeanor”
Moving on to a sense of obsession, “Miss Demeanor” tells the story of an untouchable, intoxicating, and possibly a little toxic situationship. The production is dark, moody R&B-pop with drums and a deep, pulsing bass. Featuring echoey synths and vocal layering that create a shadowy, cinematic atmosphere. The track is sleek, sultry, and hypnotic—designed to feel intimate yet dangerous, like you’re falling into something you know you shouldn’t.
“Cross Over”
Finishing the album, “Cross Over,” feels like standing under neon lights in the middle of the night, feeling like something inside you is changing. The track has a floating, hypnotic quality and light electronic flourishes, with bass lines that are present but smooth—more about groove and warmth than aggression that gives it a modern, ethereal feel. Combined with vocals from the members showcasing falsetto, layered harmonies, and quiet tension focusing on tone and emotion rather than range or power. Ideal for anyone experiencing the silent realization that they have outgrown a place or a person on an emotional level.
THE BOYZ have demonstrated with ‘Unexpected’ that they are prepared to assume the top spot in the K-pop industry. Their fearless exploration of new sounds and their undeniable talent have set the stage for an even brighter future. They continue to prove that they’re far from predictable, leaving fans excited to see what’s next in this thrilling new chapter of their journey.
