Xdinary Heroes 4th gen pop-rock boy group of JYP Entertainment debuted in 2020 with ‘Happy Death Day.’ Since their debut, they have released three EPs, their latest titled ‘Deadlock.’ The six-member group consists of Jungsu, Gaon, O.de, Jun Han, and Gun-il. The group’s music style is different than what is perceived of K-pop. It’s very obvious that rock is a BIG influence on Xdinary Heroes. If you are a fan of K-pop and rock/alternative music, Xdinary Heroes is a must in your year-round playlist.
Each member is active in playing an instrument and singing except Gun-il. It is normal for all members of prominent K-pop groups to sing, however, Xdinary Heroes is breaking those stereotypes. With every group comes a leader, so who is Xindary Heroes’ leader? Read on as we get to know Gun-il leader of Xdinary Heroes.
Who is Gun-il?
Despite being the sixth and final member Gun-il became the leader of Xdinary Heroes 4th gen pop-rock boy group. He is also the oldest of the group. He studied drums at Berklee College of Music located in Boston, MA America one of the most prestigious colleges for Art. Gun-il is also very fluent in English, he’s a Leo and is an amazing drummer. Also, a bonus thing to mention is just how cute, funny, and contagious his laugh is, you will not be disappointed trust us.
Check out this performance video that showcases his amazing skills while introducing a concept for who he is and what you can expect from Gun-il as the leader, Hyung and drummer for Xdinary Heroes.
We can’t help but feel his passion through the screen as he goes in on the drums. Here at POP TOKKI can only hope that we see this fast-paced version of Gun-il playing drums on future Xdinary Heroes songs, just like on their debut release “Happy Death Day”.
On Stage & Off Stage
Gun-il’s passion is prominent in his stage performances with his mysterious and intriguing stage presence. Extremely talented at playing the drums Gun-il stands out amongst many idols. He brings a confident and nonchalant aura when he starts playing his drums making him stand out.
Check out Gun-il’s fan-focused performance below for their debut release single “Happy Death Day”, one of our favorite videos of Gun-il.
Gun-il is not known as a main vocalist as he does not sing very often in his group, though you might catch him pop in some vocals in a few songs he solely is focused on playing the drums. Still, when he does vocalize while playing the drums we can’t help but be impressed.
Check out this cover of Stray Kids’ song “Hellevator” with some beginning vocals on Gun-il’s part.
His soft facial features, innocent face, and friendly smile have made Villains (Fandom name) assign a hamster as his representative animal, just like many other idols have. This gives him a soft persona away from his mysterious presence while in the zone on stage. Apart from his cool and inviting stage presence as an idol Gun-il seems like he’s a lot of fun to be around, let’s take a glimpse at Gun-il in a more relaxed environment.
Seeing our favorite idols away from the stage is a treat for all fans, as we get to see them in a more authentic setting whether with friends or family proving idols are more than their stage presence. We cannot wait to see what Gun-il and the Xdinary Heroes boys have in store for the future.
We here at POP TOKKI would like to wish Gun-il a very Happy Birthday! Happy Leo season!
